All my wood engravings start off as hand drawn illustrations, these are then transferred to end grain wood. My preferred wood type is boxwood and lemon. I use traditional engraving tools to cut the design on the surface of the wood. The block is then either hand burnished or printed on my beautiful 18th century columbian press . Each stage of the art making process is very important to me from drawing to finished print.
